Tirano train station is located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy, near the Swiss border. The station, situated in the town of Tirano, serves as the final stop for Trenitalia regional trains and the starting point of the world-famous Bernina Express operated by Rhaetian Railway (RhB).
It is the main transfer point between Italy and Switzerland for passengers traveling through the scenic Bernina Pass. At this station, travelers can change from Italian regional trains to Swiss panoramic trains that connect Tirano with St. Moritz, Pontresina, and other destinations in the Engadin valley.
The station complex consists of two adjacent terminals — one for Trenitalia and one for RhB trains — located just a few meters apart, making transfers quick and convenient.
